For the monthly service payment you will be invoiced every month on the day we first recieved your signed contract. The billing is indefinite and continues until you contact us to cancel. In the case of a lump-sum payment, we expect 50% up front and 50% upon project completion. To avoid incurring high processing fees, we will only accept payment via check or an ACH bank transfer.
The initial service contract for our monthly plan has a 12 month minimum after which it transitions into a monthly agreement. If payments the 12 month minimum is not met, you will be charged the total cost of the website for breach of contract and the website will be taken offline. If payments stop after the after the 12 month minimum of the contract is fulfilled the website will still come down however there is no financial penalty incurred. There is no penalty for dicontinuing service after this period, however you are not allowed ownership of the website code. If we gave clients the code, people would just leave after 12 months and we would quickly go out of business.
The monthly subscription option is indefinite. It generally takes me about 2-3 years to make what I would have off a lump sum website. Ideally my clients last at least 3 - 5 years in order to make getting paid over that time fram worth the wait and financially viable. Within that time the website will be generating more in value every month than the cost associated with it. The Reason it is setup this way is because it's not feasible for me to be waiting that long for full payment on every site only to then have to replace that income once it hits the lump sum amount. If that was the case I would have to sell sell sell every month to pay the bills instead of focusing on my clients sites and support requests. This allows me to be more involved in the business itself and provide better service than competing agencies. If clients are closing out their subscriptions every month I would need to sell more to replace that income and the whole pricing model breaks down along with the service quality I'm able to offer.
